Rebecca D'Souza

Director

Greetings distinguished delegates,

I, Rebecca D’Souza, am honored to be the director of the United Nations Environment Program. It gives me immense pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to ISM MUN 2022.

I was fortunate to have represented China at the UN Human Rights Council at ISM MUN 2021 where I received the award of Best Delegate.
My experience with MUN began in the height of the pandemic. As a first time delegate, my first conference was similar to that of many others. I decided that my strategy would be to keep quiet unless I get asked a question. However, as soon as I saw my fellow delegates defending their stances, asking the right questions and working together, I was inspired to do the same. Since then I have been fortunate to have attended over ten conferences hosted by various organizations and schools.

MUNs offer students to have a taste of the real world, to solve issues that plague our planet while teaching us the true meaning of respect, hard work and dedication. Personally, the very best thing MUN has given me is the chance to meet different people and learn from them. Every step of being a delegate is just as exhilarating as the conference itself, from the research to your very last speech.

I assure you that this year, as we discuss the pressing issues facing our environment, you will be making memories that will last a lifetime. All the best and Happy MUN’ing !!

Aman Tandon

Assistant Director

Greeting Delegates!

With great honour and pride, I welcome you to ISMMUN 22. My name is Aman Tandon and I will be serving as the Assistance Director of United Nations Environment Program. MUNs are a great way for students to showcase their debating skills. The diplomatic environment prepares us for the future corporate world and moulds us into better leaders.

My journey started off with ISMMUN 21, as the Delegate of the Russian Federation to the WHO and I won the Best Delegate. I have participated in multiple MUN Conferences and have won many awards ever since. The main purpose of the MUN is to teach us how to solve problems peacefully and efficiently. MUNs helped me discover my debating skills and sharpen them to the point of excellence. They have helped me tackle problems without any frustration and keep my cool even in adverse situations. MUNs strengthen your ability to question and think on an exponential level.

I wish all delegates the very best and hope to have the best committee session ever.
