Dhiyaneshwar S.M.
Director
Greetings delegates
My hearty welcome to ISMMUN 2022! I am S.M.Dhiyaneshwar, for making it easy, just Dhiyan. It's my immense pleasure and honour to become the Director of United Nations Human Rights Council(UNHRC).
So the first step of my journey to reach this destiny began in ISMMUN 2019, as the delegate of Germany in G20. I was never an exception. Fear of trying to speak lasted throughout the day 1 of the session and slowly the fear started disappearing and began speaking in day 2 but quite late for winning an award but never too late for the invaluable experience. I was proud to be a part of the best committee with a tiny contribution from my side.
As I am a person willing to try different dimensions of a field, I decided to give it a try for the press corps journalist audition in ISMMUN 2020 and by good grace! I got a golden opportunity to be a journalist of the same commitee I was in 2019 and apparently did my job quite well for an award. It had given me the experience of how to be a delegate by being as an observer or analyst.
ISMMUN 2021 was the first battleground with quite experience, I had gone for being the delegate of Israel in UNHRC and managed to win the high commendation 1 and giving my best for the commitee to win the best commitee award.
So finally I am here to the same commitee but this time as a director and I would like to bring back the same best commitee award to UNHRC, but these dreams can be made reality only if each and every delegates of our commitee are ready to fight for it. As the director my goal is not to focus on winning the best commitee award but making sure that each and every delegate has gained the sufficient experience required for further MUN sessions. Again I would like to say, together we can do it! Looking forward for an amazing MUN 2022
Best of luck!
Lakshmi Sathvika
Assistant Director
Greeting delegates!
I am Lakshmi Sathvika and I have been given this wonderful privilege to serve as the Assistant Director for UNHRC this year. This is my second consecutive year participating in ISM MUN. In ISM MUN 2021, I was the delegate of El Salvador to the UNHRC and boy was I nervous! Not only because it was my first MUN but also because of all the amazing delegates I was up against. At first, I was very reserved and spoke as little as one possibly could. But seeing all the other delegates debate with all their might and come up with ideas and solutions to the issues at hand, I felt motivated to speak up and eventually ended up getting a Verbal Mention.
So, it’s completely normal if you feel jittery and nervous, but be sure to give your heart out. And believe me when I say this- It’s all going to be worth it. Let’s create amazing memories together! All the very best and Happy MUNing!
